'Nocturne in A flat major' Featured In Digital Concert Series
Last year, my composition ‘Nocturne in E major’ was premiered by concert pianist Maria Marchant as part of her livestream concert series '7 Notes In 7 Days At 7pm. I was delighted to be featured for a second time, with Maria performing ‘Nocturne in A flat major’ on 24th May 2021.
I composed this nocturne while studying music composition at Brunel University. It began life as a short piece as part of an assignment. I really liked the main motif, so I adapted it into a longer piece. It was composed at a time when I was still “finding my own voice”, so you will hear some strong links to Chopin, as well as other Romantic musical influences.
